This game is really cool. The gameplay is much different than someone might expect from a game based on space travel. It also works really well and is fun to play.
Really polished, cohesive game. You had a story behind the gameplay, and it fit with how the game looked, and it looks like your use of assets was minimal or non-existent.
I would have liked slightly more complexity to the fundamental gameplay, but I know what you already have is plenty for a game jam. I like the simplicity of only using the mouse to play and it was satisfying to click the camera over and over, but I wonder if having the character move (either with the mouse or WASD) might present even more interesting gameplay, maybe something you can look into if you expand this which I think you should. It also solves the minor issue of having to wait for the right shot, instead maybe the player could optionally move around looking for better shots in a more active, almost aggressive type of gameplay.
I think it's interesting that you pass / fail based on point values. In most games with point values, the points are just an extra incentive for the player, and the pass / fail is simply whether the "mission" was completed. In your case, I think it's clever and kind of unique that you use the score to determine pass / fail.
So much character in this game. Great job
Wow, what a cool idea! Spent so much time waiting for the right shot, pretty satisfying when you get a lot of points. Love the style and music too!
