Game Jam:

Game Jam will be a sub-event of a large gaming event called Game Rev. It will be open for all virtual competition executed over itch.io. The Game Jam competition will be executed virtually by the end of March 2022 and will lead up to the mega event scheduled for 1st April 2022. it will be further divided into two parts:

Rookie – The rookie game jam will include students from our training programs. External teams with intermediate game dev skills & external lone game-devs.

Pros – The pro game jam will include teams with advanced skills. It will be open for all, with pro teams from Gaming Studios, Tech Companies, University

Registration Process:

Participants will register by following the process below:

3. Submit your details on the registration form

Timeline:

1. Register for the Game Jam by...

2. Join our Orientation Session after the Registration Deadline ends. We will be revealing the Theme on the Orientation Session
3. After the reveal: Official Clock will start for Game Jam
4. Participants will be required to submit their games before the submission deadline
5. Shortlisted Participants will be invited at Game Rev 2022 to work on final touches with the help of Mentors
6. Winners will be announced in the final ceremony on Game Rev 2022 in BNU, Lahore!

Rules:

• Games created for the Game Rev - Game Jam will be according to the set theme
• Submission needs to be made before the deadline of 11:59 PM on 14th March 2022
• Participants will only use assets available for public use or the assets for which they have the usage rights to
• The packed version of the Game will need to be uploaded on the Itch.io page for the Game Jam to be considered
• All submitted games will need to be developed on Unity & should include a “Made with Unity!” title screen

Rating System: 

The Games will be rated on four factors by our Judges: 

1.  Game Mechanics 
2.  Execution of theme 
3.  Idea 
4.  Audio & Visual

Submission Process:

Participants will need to submit their games by following the process below:

• Submit the uploaded game on the Game Train’s Game Jam page on itch.io

Rewards:

Yes, we got big cash prizes in-store for you. Rewards will be awarded on the basis of multiple factors from being the Best Game in the Game Jam to being the most downloaded game on Game Jam as well. Stay tuned, as we will be announcing details soon. 

FAQs:

Can I submit more than one game?  Yes, but we would advise against it.

Can I submit a game I already made?  No. You may only submit projects made within the time frame. We do check.

Can I make changes during the rating period? Yes, just make sure that the original version of the jam can still be downloaded.

What engine can I use? All submitted games will need to be developed on Unity & should include a “Made with Unity!” title screen.

Do I have to follow the theme? Yes, you have to follow the theme to be considered as a valid entry.

I have code and assets from other Jams I wish to use, are these allowed? Yes! If you have the rights to use it, anything that wasn't made specifically for this particular jam is allowed. Game Rev isn't strict on the "build it from scratch" ruling, but it is encouraged.

How can you tell if I made the game at an earlier stage? Outside obvious red flags, you'll know when your entry is disqualified. Jams are for fun, don't cheat yourself and be a jerk to mess with genuine folks.

Help! I couldn't submit on time, what do I do? There will be an announcement on the discord server, as well as a community post about how to submit late if you missed the deadline.
