Game Smith – where ideas get forged and game development skills improve

What happens if we combine creativity and technical skills? We would create the Game Smith, which welcomes game developers, programmers, artists, and other enthusiasts to create new video games. During the event individuals or teams of contestants will be able to create a game in a week based on the given theme.

Game Smith aims to promote further innovation in the game development industry, offering a platform where contestants can develop their skills, gain new knowledge, and create connections with other people in this field. These events are significant for motivating innovation and creating a strong game development community.

Game Smith is the ideal opportunity for all who want to improve their game development skills and become a part of a dynamic game developer community.

During the Game Smith event, the best works will be reworded, giving appreciation to those who have been able to stand out with their achievements. Similar to how scientific events appreciate the best scientific papers and innovations, here too, the participants will be appreciated for their creativity, technical solutions, and their ability to create innovative projects. The best projects will be reworded to motivate contestants to improve their skills in the field of game development.

There will be an in-person opening event on November 1st and a closing ceremony on November 8th at EKA [University of Applied Sciences, Pērnavas Street 62 ]. Every other day, it will be online.

Submit:

1. Create your game ;
2. Upload your game to Itch.io and add the necessary information ;
3. Submit your game to the JAM and attach a presentation ;
4. Present your game on the 8th of November.

Rules:

• The project must be made during the event;
• You can work in a team or solo;
• You can use ready/found assets - sprites, models, sound, music, etc;
• Don’t use unlicensed content;
• No NSFW;
• You can submit an unfinished game;
• The game can be edited after the submission if the original is accessible;
• To be eligible for the rewards, you must present your project on the 8th of November.
