GameUp Africa Game Jam 2023- An annual external game developer contest hosted by Maliyo Games under GameUp Africa to give game creators a chance to showcase their talent/skills under a set theme for a specific duration.

Game Jam Schedule:

Application closed 27th October
Theme reveal- 27th October (5 pm WAT)
Official Start- 30th October
End date & Submissions Deadline- 6th November (10 am WAT)
Game Review Feedback- 11th November (11 am WAT)

THEME

TIME-MANAGEMENT MAYHEM: Develop a game where players need to efficiently manage their time and resources to achieve specific goals.

RULES

Your game must be made within the time frame.
The games will be shared to the general public for voting.
Please keep your game free of harmful content. Entries containing excessive gore, nudity, and strong language will be disqualified.
Any free non-copyright assets can be used... This includes music, sprites and models. You can also create your own asset
All submissions must be made right here on this page
Once that countdown is done, you will not be able to edit your submissions any further. It is recommended that you upload your project at least 2 hours before the deadline.
Just make sure your game runs on mobile and submissions must be an apk file.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Make games from any genre of your choice
Feel free to pitch your game idea using the community tab on itch.io if you’re looking for people to join your team
Plan your deliverables on a daily basis and divide tasks amongst yourselves if you’re working as a team.
You can also work solo if that’s your preference.
Keep your game minimal, you only have 7 days, so try not to overdo it
Use the community tab to ask general questions to the Maliyo Games team. We will try to respond as quickly as possible.
