LEARN TO BUILD THE GAME OF YOUR DREAMS.

Gameathon is a two-week program designed to guide students with
little to no previous experience to build their first game.

About Gameathon

Gameathon is a two-week event hosted by Bit Project in collaboration with industry partners, where anyone can learn the skills needed to make your own video game! Spend a week familiarizing yourself with some of the most popular game development engines used in the industry today, and then spend a week coding the best game you can. No prior experience is necessary, and everyone is welcome to join. Submit a game, and you'll be in the running for hundreds of dollars in prizes!

General Guidelines

  1.  Have Fun! This is a beginner's game-jam -- don't stress too much about making a complex, elaborate game.  The most important part of this game-jam is to have fun and learn more about the game dev industry!
  2.  Keep things PG.  Please keep your games appropriate.  Anything in your submission that we find to be offensive or generally inappropriate will not be considered for a prize.  Similarly, if you are disrespectful in our Discord server, you will be promptly removed and will not be able to enter future hackathons or gameathons from Bit Project.  We have a zero tolerance policy for this.
  3.  Only submit your game when you are completely finished with it.  Once submissions are closed (Sunday, 10/18 at 6:00 pm PST), your submission will be locked and you will not be able to make any changes to your work.

Have any questions?

Use the Discord link above to join our server and send a message in our "Questions" channel under the Gameathon category.  One of our team members will get back to you with an answer ASAP!
