Welcome to the second game jam hosted by the Game Development Club, University of Oregon! Make a game in as little or as much time as you consider sensible, and submit it here!

Theme

The theme for this jam is Sports that Shouldn't Exist!

Rules

  • For the sake of time, every game submitted should be 2D.
  • We encourage the use of the following game engines: Unity, Godot Engine and RPG Maker. You may use other game engines or frameworks if you'd like, but we highly recommend those three.
  • Your release must include at minimum a Windows executable (.exe). All three of the recommended engines support exporting to it.
  • Your team may have at most, 5 people. It starts to become significantly more difficult when you go over that.
  • Your game shouldn't be longer than an hour. Unless it's an arcade game, which theoretically has infinite playtime.
  • If your game is multiplayer, it must be LAN or Couch Co-op only.

Legal Stuff

Anything you make during the Gamedev UO Winter 2025 Jam is your property. We claim no rights or ownership of your game.

Don't get cash involved in the process. This is a casual organization dedicated to learning. Please don't focus on generating revenue. I would strongly recommend that any completed group projects be submitted online for free instead of paid.

Usage of Generative AI is heavily discouraged and should be limited if used at all. The goal of this organization is to teach about game development, and that includes working with others. If you're thinking of using generative AI for something such as art, game writing, voice acting or programming, it's very likely that you could (and should) add an artist, writer, voice actor or programmer instead. Acceptable uses for generative AI may be as inspiration or to create placeholders, but should not be included in the final product. AI shouldn't be the work, but may be used in the work.

About Gamedev UO
