Purpose

The purpose of this jam is to raise awareness for DIPG.

What is DIPG?

DIPG, or diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, is a type of brain tumor. DIPG cancer primarily affects children, with most diagnoses occurring between 5 and 7 years of age. It makes up 10-15% of all brain tumors in children, with about 150-300 new diagnoses per year in the United States. Unfortunately, fewer than 10% of children survive two years from diagnosis.

This jam is a place for developers to network and grow skills, but please consider joining one of the official Games 4 DIPG projects on our Discord, or introducing your own project!

Participating

Join us no matter your skill level - this game jam is a perfect opportunity to create your very first game, or build a prototype for your next commercial hit.

Submitting

Submit your game between March 1st and March 31st. It can be a solo submission, or a team effort (no hard limit on the team size). You can even submit more than one entry if you want to.

Voting

Voting will be open to all who submitted a game, and will happen for two weeks right after the submission period ends – between March 31st  and April 14th. Overall winners will be announced on April 15th.

Games will be voted on based on a given criteria: Innovation, Theme, Gameplay, Graphics, and Audio. The Overall ranking will be based on the summary of those.

Prizes

There are no prizes for this jam.

Engines

You are free to use any game engine or library.  It is preferred, but not mandatory, that the build/export is playable in the browser.

Rules

1. You may use any assets you legally have rights to.

2. You may use whatever game engine you like. You don’t even have to use an engine if you don’t want to, you crazy kid you!

3. Working in teams is encouraged. Working on multiple projects is also allowed.

4. There are no prizes in this jam.

5. Absolutely NO AI generated work.
