Tools and Resources
No outside asset packs were used (I made all art/music for this jam), and there is no AI-generated content in the game. I used Unity, Aseprite for art, Visual Studio Code for programming, and Beepbox for music.

Estimated work hours
I didn't track it, but maybe 100 hours?

AI Tools?
I used a popular AI image generation tool to try to generate inspiration, but ultimately didn't find it very useful (perhaps my own AI-whispering is poor). The clouds in the final action scene were inspired by oversized clouds I saw in an AI image, but they came out quite differently when I put cursor to pixel, with the sunset look added. Learning about AI tools inspired some elements of the plot line, however...

Theme
I used a secondary meaning of "scream": moving very rapidly (e.g., "the ball went screaming past my head")

Superb mood and music! Gameplay and story progression were nice too, no unnecessary repetition and pace of new abilities was good. I was able to beat the game without any issues, but a couple of more checkpoints would have made the experience even smoother. Here is some minor things that could elevate the game further quality wise:
 - Add proper integer pixel scaling, currently not every pixel lines up perfectly causing some irregularities to the art style
 - Add some kind of visual element to the ship after picking up a 2nd jump, so you know you have the jump available

Thank you so much for this great feedback and for playing!  The visual element when the second jump is available is a great idea for the ship.  On the (dreaded) pixel issue, after reading your comment I tried playing it on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, playing it on Mac and PC, and in full-screen and otherwise, and I couldn't see any uneven-sized pixels -- was there a particular point in the game where you saw this?  Or was your play setup different from one of the ones I tested?  Thank you again!

I was able to see things off by pixel or two in many spots. Like here with the character clipping with the floor and orange line not continuing correctly with the blue. I am using a 4k monitor so that might be the culprit. Browser is Firefox. It is not a huge issue by any means, but when you see it, it is hard to unsee.

Got it -- thank you again, very helpful!

I'm no good at platformers, so I wasn't able to get very far, but wooowww!!! The aesthetics and sound design of this game is amazing! It's very peaceful and calming to look at. <3
