- Firstly, I think you have done a very good job of making the game world look nice. Your sea-based approach works well and is a pleasant environment in which to play the game. I also appreciate that you've attempted to bring something new to game of minesweeper. The idea of the dice and its random effects is good, although it is difficult to remember what each number represents, perhaps having icons to represent the effects would help, and this could then lead you into a progression system where the player could earn new abilities and perhaps customise the dice with their own configuration. I felt it was hard to know how well I was progressing with the game and how close I was to completing the level. Perhaps a counter or a percentage complete indicator would be a good addition so the player can see they are making progress. Coding wise, your document shows me that you have a good idea of how to put systems together in a tidy way, and I'm pleased to see you realise one of the big benefits on source control, that it is easy to roll things back should they not work out! Also good for you on admitting your preference to using a whiteboard for planning. When working on a project always use an approach that works best for you, don't waste time fighting with a tool if it isn't making your life easier. I too prefer an old school approach to solo work, with a pad of paper and a pen being my tools of choice for personal day-to-day planning. You have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into your submission, I hope you have found it useful as a learning experience.
