- I think it's clear from your documentation that you're very aware of the shortcomings, so I'm not going to dwell on that, but your game actually sounds like a pretty cool idea! While the end result may not have been what you wanted, it's still an achievement to have got a working build submitted. It's also excellent to see that you identified and worked through the problems you found, as this is an important skill in itself. I think that from the design concept you were working from, you may have worried a bit too much about the complexity. The mix of gameplay mechanics you planned was completely fine. The trick with virtual pets is that they *are* deceptively simple inside, it's often just a handful of variables on timers with reset switches. It's the use of UI that gives the illusion of complexity (and 'life'), and adding minesweeper to the mix is already challenge enough for a project of this scope. If you're able to revisit the project again at a more relaxed pace without the time pressure, I'd recommend having a go. Being able to solve your remaining problems and fully mesh those two game mechanics together with some clear UI is an interesting challenge and good practice at working with another codebase.
- The gameplay works perfect. It would have been nice to have a better UI. The HUD seems out of place and the menus are very functional but blend.
