Give a brief description of your game:
a crazy time-racing game

What controls do you need to use?
Arrow Keys or WASD, Space, Enter, Escape

How did you bring the theme of Time into your entry?
You have to "race" against the clock. Time is a core gameplay mechanic, because it forces you to take risks and surely will kill you:)

What was the most interesting part about making the game?
First use of the Unreal Engine VehicleMovement, Mesh LODs, optimizing physics, Online Highscore, First GameJam since 2012

Anything else to add?
Sometimes the car physics behave a little funny ^^ To get the game done in Time, I used some asset packs. This means the car, factory models and trees, birds, skysphere texture, mountains (bg), music and the water weren't created by me. However, i modified the models in Blender (rigging the car to a skeleton to use it with unreals kinematic vehicle movement, creating collision meshes,...)

Nice graphics and audio! I included it in my Games Plus Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out. :)

Hi tankbuster! I watched this game on the live stream, and thought it was a must-try. I think that it was spectacular that you managed to do this in the 3 days.

The cinematic intro was amazing, and the voice acting was great. I think the game could be polished, so the car doesn't crash as much into random ice. Saying that, it's a jam game so it doesn't matter too much. I think that adding mouse controls for the camera would also improve the user experience.

Overall, you did a great job, and I look forward to whatever you do next!

Developer

Thank you too!

I'll start helping out some devs at their project called Witching Hour:

I plan to release some own games in the future, but for now I'll stick with that team and hopefully make a really cool game.

Can't believe everything was done so fast. Really well done on the intro. The movement and skidding in the snow is perfect and seems very real. However, it's very difficult to pass the sinking ice. But other than that, the game has lot more to provide.

Perfect!!

I know the game is very hard to beat,  but nice you like it anyway! I thought about making the ice sink slower on easy mode, but  i had so much to implement in so little time, i forget about it :x

Yeah, with more time, this game could be so much bigger!

Hey Tankbuster, just leaving some feedback if you don't mind.

For your first game jam after such a long time, surely it's a good entry. The theme and graphics are nice, even if the use of time isn't very creative mechanic wise.

Anyway, IMO this game is very fun, mostly because of the car physics: I believe they're not a problem, as the game really plays like driving in the snow, and avoiding the obstacles is hard but funny when you crash and keep trying to recover, only to find yourself slowing sinking... also, even if this makes the game fun, it also makes it very hard to beat, even on Easy Mode. If that was what you wanted, hey, GJ!

Also liked the options for different graphic quality. Again, theese are just my opinions, and maybe what I disliked other people will like a lot more. Anyway, surely a good entry!

thanks for your feedback!

I thought it was necessary for the game to have quality settings,  so  older  computers  wont  struggle.

For the next Jam, i will try sticking more to the theme and make it a little easier/acessable. =)

Finally it's released! Now it's time to  get some sleep back :)
