LOVE ON THE VINE

Calling all Gather enthusiasts!
We'd love for you to join this beginner-friendly map making jam, where we'll have fun exploring making themed maps in this 2D-pixels-and-proximity-chat virtual world. 

Let's get together and make virtual spaces for the ones we love (romantically or platonically)! Will you make a private beach resort? A candlelit restaurant? The top of the Empire State building? A treehouse filled with your best friendship memories? Now's the perfect time! (And shh... rumor has it there might just be a Valentine's Day event around the corner that you may be able to have your map specially featured in! 😍)

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

• Discuss ideas & projects and form teams (if you'd like) in the Gather Enthusiasts Discord.
• Build with us from Saturday to the end of next weekend! Contribute to as many different projects as you like.
• If you have a question or would like some company while you design, pop into in the Gather Cafe.
• When you're finished, submit screenshots of your awesome maps (and optionally, links to the maps and/or any assets from them you might like to share) so that we can ooh and ahh over them!

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is an unranked jam intended for all skill levels.  Friendly community members will be handing out (metaphorical) glue sticks & construction paper. We encourage everyone to make Valentines they can share share with the whole class (as in, please keep it SFW!) You are also welcome to participate and share in the learning exercise, even if you don't plan to submit a map to the jam.

Even if you don't feel like much of a pixel artist, the Gather Map Maker offers a number of point and click options. Here are some other tools the community uses, but by no means an exhaustive list:
