Yo Hackathon deelnemers!
This is the Gamebasics 2020 Hackathon. Most details will be in the presentation or dropped in the Hacktathon 2020 channel, so don't forget to look there for more information!
Every team is expected to upload a game based on the theme that was shared during the presentation.
Besides making a game based on the theme, there are some criteria that every team/game is going to be judged on.
Description of the criteria for judging:
Does the itch.io page sell the game to you? Are you intrigued to play the game? Would you feel this game should be worth mad monies? Are you inclined to share this page with friends because you are so hyped to play this game?
Have you been playing this game for longer than intended? Do you feel challenged? Is your life empty if you are not playing this game? Do you feel an emotional rollercoaster because the gameplay is just so amazing?
Did you almost say 'wow, this looks amazing' out loud? Do you stop playing for a short while to just admire the visuals? Does the art really supplement the gameplay? Would you make a screenshot so you can order a poster and hang it on your wall?
Are you thinking of all the possibilities this game could be offering? Do you feel with more content this could be the number 1 mobile game on the market? Do you feel we should make a team ASAP and work on this game right now because it just has so much potential?
Do you feel like this game already belongs in the play/App Store/Steam, because it's just so polished? Have you not encountered any visual or technical bugs? Does it feel like it was made without anyone rushing?
There are also some extra challenges that will get you extra points! So if the final scores of the teams are really close, it can make a difference.
