  • I like the idea! The platforming was weighty, which I personally enjoy. The combat wasn't very responsive; I wasn't sure when I was dealing damage or receiving it. I got stuck in a dead but alive state at one point and couldn't progress.
  • Nice animation and player character design. The theme is not fully represented but the gameplay is decent.
  • Incredible visuals and music! The controls were a bit clunky, and I got stuck on the second level. I wasn't sure how the overall game related to Giving, either
  • not bad! its a good start critique: hitting your head on the bottom of a platform is not fun. itd be better if you could jump up from below the platform and go through it, to then be able to land on it. this would solve the head bonking problem assuming you made this in unity, you can do that by having your platform collider checked "Used by Effector", and adding a PlatformEffector component to the gameobject. this will allow you to jump up through platforms the phantoms' colliders should probably have "isTrigger" set to true, so that the player cant stand on them, and so the enemies don't body block the player all the time the art assets all looked good by themselves but together it didnt feel cohesive. the collectathon mechanic is solid and presents some fun challenges. tho id recommend possibly not requiring 100% completion, maybe make it so they can pass after only 90% collected, as a possibility overall not bad. good job!
