Genre Jam is an interesting an unique game jam where you are assigned a randomized main genre (i.e. Romance, Action, etc.) and then a gameplay-based subgenre along with it (i.e. text-based, platformer). You are assigned one week to create a game. You aren't expected to create a feature-length game, but a functional amount of gameplay to capture the theme of your game is needed.
Feeling doubts about your game and/or it's quality? Add the optional theme for brownie points! Doing the theme can give you a chance to proceed with the overall rankings. It will be announced around a week before the game jam begins to give time to brainstorm with ideas, however, the randomized genre and subgenre will not be announced until the start. In the mean time, think of characters, environments, etc.

Create a game that allows the player to "be in the shoes of" someone or something.
Refer to the subgenre for specifics.
Subgenre:
Breeding
Create a theme related to the simulation of breeding animals/items and unlocking new combinations.
No NSFW content allowed and will be taken down immediately and you will be banned.
Theme is optional but will award you greatly in the ratings.
