GeorgiaDev Winter Jam is a 2-day non-competitive game jam hosted by the game development clubs of Georgia State, Georgia Tech, SCAD, and UGA. Join our Discord to team up with students from your school or from other schools!
The theme will be announced one hour before the jam starts. Teams are encouraged to think about ideas and brainstorm before the jam, however no development work is allowed until 7pm EST on Friday, December 20, 2024.
1. You must attend or have recently graduated from GT, GSU, SCAD, and UGA to participate in the jam. A recent graduate is anyone who was a member of VGDev, PantherDev, Game Builders Club, and Georgia Game Developers Association Atlanta SCAD Chapter within the past year since December 2023.
2. Solo dev is allowed, but team development is highly encouraged. GeorgiaDev Winter Game Jam's goal is to help participants practice doing game jams!
3. Teams of up to 6 members are allowed. We encourage working with members of the other school!
4. Previous projects and/or any of your previous work are not allowed to be submitted.
5. You are allowed to use pre-made assets as long as you credit them appropriately.
6. You are allowed to use any software to create your game.
7. Use of any AI-generated content is not allowed in the final game submission.
8. If you don't happen to finish before the deadline, feel free to submit any unfinished work.
9. Your submission must be able to run on a Windows machine. If you have any concerns about this, ask the moderators on Discord!
10. Be sure to use the theme in your project. You will be ranked by other jammers based on your use of this theme, so get creative!
11. All submissions should have credits that have all participating members' names and Discord handles. These should be in either the Itch page description (recommended) or in the game itself.
Voting will take place as soon as submissions close. You will have five days to play the games of your fellow jammers, rate them based on 5 categories, and leave fun and informative comments about your thoughts on the game. The categories are as follows.
1. Concept - How unique or interesting the concept of the game is.
2. Use of Theme - How creatively the team made use of the given theme.
3. Enjoyment - How much you enjoyed the gameplay without considering the other categories.
4. Visual Aesthetic - How appealing the game is visually.
5. Audio - How appealing the game sounds.
For any questions, comments, or concerns about the jam, please reach out to a moderator in our Discord server, or make a post in the questions channel. Good luck!
