FAQ (Check our Discord server!)
——————————————————
Q: HOW DO I REGISTER FOR G/M JAM '23?
A: First, register following the link in announcements, choose your roles in roles, and introduce yourself in introduce-yourself. You may either register as a team or register to be paired with other game designers.
Each game design team may have up to 5 non-composer participants. Use the looking-for-teams and looking-for-members chats to create teams, or you may also opt to be paired randomly with other game designers on the registration form.
Only ONE person from each team should complete the registration and register their entire team, whether your team is only you or up to five game designers. You may register or return to edit the form and add/remove teammates until the end of October 31st.
Composers will only be assigned teams AFTER the Game Jam concludes and BEFORE the Music Jam begins. Composers may be paired with other composers depending on the number of registrations.

Q: IS THERE A TEAM SIZE LIMIT?
A: Yes. Each game design team may have up to 5 non-composer participants, which may include programmers, artists, sound designers, etc. Composers will be randomly assigned onto teams AFTER the Game Jam concludes, which does not affect the team size limit.

Q: HOW DO I FIND A TEAM?
A: We encourage you to introduce yourself in #introduce-yourself and choose your roles in #roles , then use the #looking-for-teams and #looking-for-members channels to connect with other like-minded individuals! Are you a sound designer looking to create light ambience? Or perhaps you're interested in creating a game in the visual novel genre?
Note that only ONE person from each team may register their entire team. You may register or return to edit the form until the end of October 31st.
ㅤ——————————————————
Q: CAN COMPOSERS JOIN A TEAM BEFORE THE MUSIC JAM?
A: No, composers will not be assigned teams before the Game Jam. Composers will be randomly assigned teams AFTER the Game Jam concludes and BEFORE the Music Jam begins. However, you may indicate which specific teams interest you on the registration form and you may be assigned your preferred team on a first come, first serve basis.

Q: CAN COMPOSERS REGISTER FOR THE GAME JAM AS A SOUND DESIGNER?
A: Yes and no. If you are planning on doing sound design, you must register for the Music Jam portion of the event, which includes composers and sound designers for SFX , environment ambiences, etc. You should not register for the Game Jam portion of the event.
——————————————————
Q: I'M A COMPOSER AND A DEVELOPER. CAN I PARTICIPATE IN BOTH THE GAME JAM AND THE MUSIC JAM?
A: Yes, you can participate as both a developer in the Game Jam and a composer in the Music Jam. If you would like to participate in the Game Jam and the Music Jam as both a developer and a composer, you must register twice! No matter which jam you register for, you will be paired with a team from the other jam and collaborate to create a game and soundtrack together.

Q: CAN MY TEAM USE PRE-PREPARED CODE OR ASSETS LIKE SCENE MANAGERS, ARTWORK, SOUNDS, ETC.?
A: Yes. While we encourage everyone to create their projects from scratch, we also understand that some teams may lack artists, developers, sound designers, etc. If you use any pre-prepared code and/or assets, you MUST include a list of citations in your final submission, whether the assets were free or purchased. Failure to cite your sources (plagiarism) will disqualify your team from the jam.
