Damn this is difficult. I really can't make a mental map at all! Any hint near which kind of environment the cat can be found? I figured in the woods, but welp.
Have you found the river crossing? If not, I'd recommend looking for that first. Once you've crossed, looking in the woods should help you go in the right direction.
I think I found the crossing, then confused myself by turning too often and stepping off on the direction I came from. I'll try again soon!
