Awhh man, can't play this, being alone and all. I will leave a rating just to bump you, specially because you left such a thorough review!
The artstyle is really interesting, specially the yank animation (was it the yank one? it's like the one where it dissapears on itself) and how the water has that hand drawn aestethic. Wish i could play it with someone!!
I found it difficult to understand the controls and what they did, but since I don't actually have another person with me to properly test the game, I'm not sure whether I should actually leave a rating...
Interesting concept for Only One, no explanation or tutorial made the controls confusing took me and my friend a while to understand how the dash works, the triangles felt a bit ambiguous on which direction they were facing. Overall cool game!
Thanks for playing! With a little more time - the eternal refrain of the Game Jam - I would've added a proper menu/tutorial. In lieu of that, I've updated the game's page with default controls. For character direction, next time we might try some additional shading/outlining/extra visual cues to indicate direction, since it's such an important part of the tackle and the yank moves. When you're working with a key mechanic that needs to be communicated at a glance, better to err on the side of over-emphasis.
