As you control an individual ship for longer you will slowly lose control of its subsystems and will have to eject and take control of a new one in order to have a ship that is usable.

Seems like a good concept. It's sad that you couldn't polish more, but that's normal on a jam, so don't worry too much. Good luck!
Thank you. It was a shame that I couldn't get it to work in time for the jam, but I do plan on spending a little bit of time polishing and fixing it in the future.
Ejection only worked once for me, but i could see what it should be and i like the idea.
