Its a very creative concept. I think you could make a very cool game out of it.

But i still think the mechanics could be a bit more easily understandable for the players. I.e. the goal of the game, the mechanics behind the enemies and what each colour does. Maybe by indicating what effect you've reccived when on each colour of paint. Giving the player feedback when they reccive points and making it a bit more obvious why they have so.

I'd reccomend letting someone playtest the game. Giving them the game without too much explanation and trying to understand why they might not understand certain parts of it. Taking your time to itterate on the user experience of the game until players can pretty seemlessly understand the mechanics without explicit explanation.

Again its a very cool concept. But try to think about it from the perspective of new players when working on it. Maybe try to find some creative ideas for how to communicate your ideas to the players. And you'll make your ideas shine a lot more

It’s fun, but being able to play it in a browser would add a lot.

Congrats.

I love this!! This is such a brilliant idea. It definitely took some learning (a tutorial would have been nice) but once I got it, I really enjoyed it. Finding combos was really cool i.e. place red and green, and suddenly you're blasting away enemies. The purple was an awesome touch - I loved diving through enemies' trails and setting up a new location on the other side to shoot from. I thought the game could've benefited from combining some colours? Maybe red could be faster movement and faster shooting - 3 colours might be a bit more manageable. Overall, brilliant idea, fantastic first game jam, can't wait to see what you make next! 5 star creativity from me.

A gamejam specific point: Godot can export to HTML5 - definitely do it! Lots more people will play your game because they don't feel comfortable downloading files which might be harmful. I used this guide (https://foosel.net/til/how-to-export-a-godot-4-game-to-run-on-the-web-on-itchio/).

It is really weird game, but it's good and really fun. My main issues are lack of tutorial in game and spamming mouse to shoot.
Good job!
