Each mechanical element has multiple effects; shooting an enemy with one type of ammo refills the other type, collecting an ammo box deals damage to the player, and collecting a health pack requires ammo to be sacrificed.

Nice shooter! I included it in my Game Maker Toolkit’s Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
The idea of killing enemies with one type of ammunition in order to fill up the other one is a fairly interesting idea, not gonna lie. However what could have been a nice idea would be to give different ammo types different functionalities and give them more distinct looks. Also it can be quite difficult to see the enemy attacks. Great job still! Keep at it ^^
Thanks for the feedback, I actually was considering expanding things out a bit and maybe eventually putting up a more complete (and playable) version at some point in the future. I ended up running into an issue this time around of spending too much of the jam time figuring out how to implement the basic stuff that is there and not enough really fleshing it out; hopefully in time that'll be less of an issue as I get more of a handle on how to do things.
No worries, hopefully you'll keep at it! Good luck in the future :>
