How does your submission match the theme?
Power Hearts makes use of the theme for combat. Using your own health, you charge up your weapon. After firing a shot, your health will slowly regenerate. However if you charge your shot beyond the safety margin, if that bullet hits an enemy, health regeneration speeds are much faster.

Using your melee attack also grants you health, but angers the enemies, causing them to spew more bullets.
