Now that felt like a very big labyrinth! I did not find my way out :-(

I'd suggest to start with a bit brighter light at the start then is currently the case. The "monster eyes" appear relative to the player character so it took me a while to understand what was going on. Only when I picked up the first light I realized what were the maze outlines.
