It was a very pretty game, I love the aesthetic, but I don't know how to craft, I can walk on water, and all that happens is a rat steals stuff from what I can tell. from reading the other comments, it seems like all you really would need is some instructions or a "how to play" menu :)
Thank you! Our artist wanted to experiment with a 1-bit style.
For crafting you have to click the little hammer in the top right then select what you want to craft. The crafting recipes are in the game description. Each night event has a unique consequence/blessing depending on what you have built.
After seeing the comments so far, we are already working on adding a "how to" page in a later update.
Really liked the art style, gameplay was very difficult and frustrating. Couldn't figure out how to craft until I was told by someone who already played
Thanks for the feedback! A few others have said the crafting was confusing, we'll keep that in mind for a future update.
I really enjoy the concept it definitely have a lot of potential. The art was really cool! However, the UI is pretty small which makes it hard to distinguish between different items. Would love to see a polished model if you were to continue it.
Thank you so much! We'll keep this in mind for a future update.
Definitely enjoyed the audio of the game and loved the idea of it! However, the gameplay was slightly confusing because I had no idea what was being represented in my inventory because the sprites were hard to differentiate between each other. While I like the use of one color, it made it hard to discern differences between objects since the pixel size of the sprites were too small and the mono color made it really difficult.
Thank you for the feedback and compliments!
We've noted multiple players had the same issue. We'll keep this in mind for a future update.
Really ambitious and cool idea here. Unfortunately it felt impossible to beat, I was only ever able to make a fire and SOS sign. I could never get enough vines in time without clogging my inventory. I did survive to day 3 and by then all resources seemed to be gone :( . I really like the visuals, the monochrome aesthetic is amazing. Overall really fun idea that implements the theme well.
Thank you!
The theme of the Game Jam we created this for was "again and again", so the character is in a loop of survival and escape attempts. So, you're right there is no way to "win". The goal is to survive as long as possible and beat your last run. The team will try to implement a scoring system so there's a bigger purpose to building the raft.
Good job on getting to day 3! Did you get the rat event? They're sneaky little theifs. If you didn't get that event, let us know, we'll look into it.
The concept is solid but I couldn't figure out how to craft anything unfortunately, I always died at the first day. Could totally be user error though! The limited color pallet is striking, but makes it a bit hard to figure out what object I'm interacting with and what the object I'm picking up actually is. Great job overall! Loved the sound design.
In the game description we put the crafting recipes Since you can only have 9 items at a time , your items will change when you try to collect more so keep an eye on the symbols at the top right. You also need at least 1 food and 1 water in your inventory before the day is over (the icons look like a ham/chicken leg and a water drop)
We'll add a crafting book and item log in game at a later update :)
The game sadly gives me an error at the end of the timer !! But the visuals and sound are so so cool!! This rocks! :D
Thank you so much!
We believe the error is because the Unity files are having trouble converting to HTML playable.
Please try the downloadable game file under the description :)
