Welcome to the Grand Slam Jam, a game jam about making a RHYTHM GAME which is hosted by the Creator’s Campfire Discord Server https://discord.gg/FADSj49eSB.

There are three categories you can compete in.
Part of this is a music jam, so if you create a great song for a rhythm game, you can win the category Best Rhythm Song for a rhythm game, even if the game doesn't win best game. Entries will be judged on vibe-ability and whether they fit well in the rhythm game.
If you like making songs, though, you might team up with someone else to compete for the Best Rhythm Game title as well. This will be rated on gameplay and design.
There is an additional Hardmode Challenge for those who wish to show that they can complete the challenge in 48 hours instead of two weeks. Those entries will be judged separately. All entries will be rated by the general public (anyone with an itch account) on the level of gameplay achieved in this short time span. Winners will be given special roles on our server.
Please avoid NSFW (18+) content and be mindful of others. Don't make games meant to bully or harass other people, either individuals or groups. You are allowed to use assets made by others, except the songs, which must be original. If you use assets, do, however, make sure that you have the proper licenses and to give credit where credit is due. We wish you to submit games created exclusively for this jam. To avoid spam entries we might remove games that clearly don't follow this rule (e.g. entries that were submitted to multiple different jams or games that clearly don't follow the given theme). If you are worried that your approach to the theme might be unconventional, you can explain it in your game's description or contact us ahead.
This jam is being hosted by Creator's Campfire discord server, which you can join here: https://discord.gg/FADSj49eSB. If you have any questions about the jam, feel free to ask on the server. You can also look for team members if you want to work in a group in #find-gamejam-team or see a list of tools in #-jam-tool-box . You don't need a team, but you are welcome to form one if you enjoy it.

2-The server has a small instruction guide with images for any first-time jammers who aren't on itch.io yet. It can be hard to find things initially.
