It's time again to talk about the biggest contest in the OHR. Combining both Summer Slam and Heart of the OHR, the Heart Slam OHR contest serves as a way to highlight the best games the ohrrpgce has to offer.
This year, the submission window is going to be longer than normal. Going from May 6th all the way until Thankgiving (Nov, 28th).
This is to give people more time on their entries while also embracing the heart of the OHR contest tradition of being very long, despite that sometimes being a bad idea. IT is also to allow for the timing of a new and yet classic category to the contest, holidays.
The categories are individual awards entries can claim outside of the main contest. The winner of each of the 3 categories will receive a ribbon and $5 to spend on steam. The categories are Heart Award; which will go to the best traditional rpg entered into the contest, and Programming Excellence. Finally the last category is Best Original Soundtrack, which will go to the creator of the best original soundtrack made for an entry to the contest.
Aside from the separate categories, the main contest will crown a first second and third place winner. 1st place will receive $100, the offer of a mystery prize, and a trophy. Second place will receive $25 and a ribbon. Third place will get $5 on steam.
Voting includes typical OHRRPGCE community voting, along with weighted scores from a panel of judges. Voting needs to be submitted either by private message to the contest host Spoonweaver, on itch.io, or posted on the slimesalad forum. While voting, please rank each game 1-10 and share your ordered list of games for each category. No need to vote for every game or every category. Anything not voted for will receive a 7 as it's score from the voter that skipped it as well as any person that entered and didn't vote.
Voting will run till Dec 15st.
Results will and thus prizes will not be solely based on itch.io voting
