Hi there! We had a glitch on our side of the jam and lost the "Artistic Statement" field. It's back in place so please resubmit this game or at least add your artistic statement as a comment. I believe to resubmit you'll need to delete your submission first. Sorry for the inconvenience.

My artistic statement:

Hello, I'm Thomas Boone, I am a soon to be graduate student, finishing up Digital Arts & Entertainment (DAE) at Howest (Belgium).

For this game jam, I created a little typing game dedicated to my uncle, who passed away 14 years ago. Before his passing, I was a carefree child and after it, I was transformed into this curious teenager, trying to discover his own way through early adulthood.

He was a hard-working man who really took care of his family. He made me realize that life is too short to fool around, yet also too short to keep working yourself into the ground. What remains, is a need for balance. That is the biggest lesson I've learned from him.

Around the time he passed away I started writing and enjoying poetry. It's been a long time since I've gotten a verse out of my fingers and with this jam, dedicated to those who inspire us the most, I was more than willing to give it a try again, to pay tribute to my first hidden hero.

So yes, thank you for organizing this jam!

Thanks so much for your contribution to the jam, Thomas. It is a beautiful tribute. The typing mechanic really augments your poetry.
