- The sound design for this game was great, the atmosphere was pretty creepy especially after the candle went out. Also, the shadows being cast by light sources were really nice. Criticism: - I was a little disappointed that the "thing" hunting me never actually showed up to scare me or chase me. - the controls had some issues: -- if two interactable objects are very close together, the action menu would randomly close before I could select an option. this was most noticeable with the door to the starting room after pushing it all the way open, causing it to press against the kitchen counter. -- the player's collision box being EXACTLY the shape and size of the player's sprite and the candle led to some issues getting into certain areas, this was most noticeable trying to get to the back of the south room between the shelves. - there were some lighting/shadows issues after my candle went out, lots of flickering in pitch dark areas. - (small nitpick) it took me longer than I should admit to realize the character sprite was a top-down view of a man wearing a hat. a walking animation would help this a lot.
- I escaped the map when trying to use the toolbox. I think the concept was good, though I would've preferred more context as to why I'm in this situation and maybe a push on what I should do to start. Would change controls so a click brings up the context menu, as holding sometimes didn't register.
