The Jam

Indie Game Academy is currently in the midst of their second season "Network Nexus."

Networking in the game industry is essential as it cultivates collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and career opportunities among developers, fostering a dynamic ecosystem where creativity and innovation thrive. Game Jams are a fantastic way to quickly meet new people, develop friendships and partnerships, and expand your connections further! This will be a 72 hour jam. We will announce the theme at the kickoff event, so you should definitely attend! 

Theme: Collaboration

The Kickoff

Today is the day of the kickoff! Please read the below carefully as it has important information about the events for today.

At 3:00pm ET/8:00 UTC/12:00pm PT, we will be holding an initial networking event. This will be held in our IGA gather. This event will be to meet other folks that are participating in the event, with an intent to form a team you can work with for the jam. You are also welcome to join to simply meet fellow game developers. For this event, we ask that you include in your name, your vertical and desired engines. Please see below

The event will be held in the classroom. When you enter the Gather space, please follow the white arrows that will bring you to a room that looks like the below.

At 6:30PM ET/11:30PM UTC/3:30PM PT, we will hold the official game jam event. This will be a presentation and reveal, hosted by Jess and Willem, followed directly by a networking event. We ask that you review the above regarding your name and location, as that will be helpful for this event as well.

We advise that you arrive to the events on time or early as our Gather has a capacity limit. If you get a message that the space is full, we are at capacity, and you are welcome to continue to try in case space opens up! Please note: The kickoff at 6:30pm ET/11:30pm UTC/3:30pm PT will be the official jam theme reveal and networking event. The earlier event is for networking only. 

Participation

While you can absolutely join as a solo developer, we highly recommend you consider working with a team. If you have not found a team prior to the jam kickoff, the event is a great way for you to meet fellow jammers and find some cool new friends to work with!
