The unfortunate thing with 'Celine' is that there's just no music/effects and that's something I really look forward to when playing a game - it's really important for immersion. Even just something simple from the RTP would've been better than nothing!
It feels quite unfinished and that it would need more time to get it up to speed and to a standard you'd like. Also please teach the player at the beginning with a tutorial about the controls/what the objectives are! That would be super helpful :) I hope you continue working on the idea to strengthen it.
Without even placeholder music, it left a very unsettling feeling as you went through and the gameplay was repetitive, since there wasn't really much of a story to propel us along. It was interesting (though not necessarily in a good way) to see the enemies floating / standing on the NPCs' heads, but that's probably something you'll want to take a look at before the full release.
The art was neat and I do hope you'll continue putting work into this one to improve it!
I got this one for judging so here are my thoughts:
I think there is potential to this game, but it will need some things added to it at some point. The lack of sound or music was kinda offputting. The collision needs a rework, I had enemies in mid air swinging at me and I was swinging at them, and both of us were just missing.
The healer idea is interesting, though I do feel like I spent most of my time just sitting waiting for the lantern to recharge. Maybe some occasional full recharge points in the map? Also a tutorial on the keys would be nice, I was smashing every key on my keyboard for a while before I could even read the signs.
Overall it does need some work though. My suggestion is find some music and sound effects so it gets some life. Then look into adding a story so we know what we are doing. Doesn't have to be much but just something so we know why we are doing this.
This is honestly too undercooked to even consider it completed enough for the contest, at least for me. There isn't much I can say, it just seems like such an early prototype, no music, the ai is very dim, no motivation stated, story, anything.
An interesting concept, but the lack of music and sound really makes it hard to engage with. The combat is awkward and floaty, and the AI pathfinding is really really terrible. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, since there is literally no screen shots, but this feels extremely unfinished, even for a demo.
