Overview

The Indie Park Game Jam is hosted on our Indie Park Discord server. This jam is all about creating a game over the span of a month. However, development is highly encouraged to be concentrated during weekends for maximum productivity and flexibility, as most participants may have jobs or studies during weekdays.

Participation Details

  • Duration: The jam runs over a month, with four weekends designated for concentrated development.
  • Team Formation: You can participate solo or in teams of up to 4 people. Teams can be formed on our Discord server, which is primarily French-speaking but can accommodate English communication.
  • Focus: The primary aim is learning and improvement. Detailed feedback will be provided to help developers hone their skills.

Rules and Guidelines

  • Original Content: Participants are encouraged to create everything from scratch during the event. If using pre-made assets, list them in the game description and ensure you have the rights to use them.
  • Permitted Assets: Both free and paid asset packs are allowed but must be credited properly.
  • AI Usage: If AI tools are used, mention them in the game description.
  • Prohibited Content: NSFW content is strictly forbidden. Any malware or malicious programs will result in immediate disqualification and sanctions.
  • Platforms: All submitted games must be digital and playable on Web, Windows, Linux, or Mac. Web games are preferred for ease of access.

Development Support

  • Help and Resources: Our Discord server is available for any assistance needed during the jam.
  • Feedback: Post-jam playtesting and feedback sessions will be organized to provide constructive insights for all participants.

Evaluation Criteria

Games will be judged based on the following categories:

  1. Gameplay: Flow, controls, and overall experience.
  2. Theme Adherence: How well the game adheres to the jam theme.
  3. Aesthetics: Visual appeal and style.
  4. Sound Design: Music and sound effects contribution.
  5. Originality: Creativity and uniqueness.
  6. Overall Impression: General quality and enjoyment.

Legal

Anything created during the Indie Park Game Jam remains the property of the creators. The jam organizers and sponsors claim no rights over the games. However, games may be showcased on our social media platforms.
