Spindlewheel is a wonderful system for telling a variety of stories. My particular favourite module is Detective because it's quick to play (about 30 minutes) and pick up since most people are familiar with crime stories. I've run it for many different people, and the tales that get told always end up in engaging, surprising places.
The most excitingly challenging RPG I've ever played. I can't recommend it enough.
In many ways, Spindlewheel is more of a scaffolding than a single game with a rigid set of rules—and this microgame compilation is a shining example of the breadth and depth that the scaffolding has to offer. The generators and maps offer an immediate and easy avenue for new players to learn the flexibility of the Spindlewheel deck, whereas more sophisticated spreads like Detective and The Mountain provide players the chance to exercise more lateral storytelling connections. The collaborative nature of these games makes them approachable for veterans and newcomers alike.
Spindlewheel is the Tarot-like RPG we never knew we needed, and these games are a good, quick way to get into it. Of special note is "Meet Me in the Field of Honor at Dawn," the most fun I've had engaging in a duel in a long time, and with a purely narrative rather than tactical set of rules.
