Make a passion game project for yourself or someone else using the Scratch platform https://scratch.mit.edu/ . Scratch is famous for its ease of use. If you have ever wanted to make a game but not known where to begin, try this jam out and give yourself a treat. Your game can be as playful or serious as you want and may be made alone or in a team. You can make something very simple or get as complicated as you like. The important thing is to have fun and love making a game.  Special server roles will be awarded to winners.

THEME: Explanation of the theme for the game jam Itching to Scratch is at the following link on Youtube:

https://youtu.be/R_enfEIuuJE

Theme: CONCOCTION CONNECTION

Use your imagination to integrate this into you game however you wish. It can be about chemical bonds, can take place in a witches’ meet, can involve a love potion or could just be about characters that enjoy mixing things.

Games must be made within the given time frame and follow the criteria and the theme. You are however allowed to use assets made beforehand, given that you don't simply remake an older game of yours.

The games will be rated by anyone with an itch account using the criteria:

Use of the theme: did you make an effort to include some facet of the theme?

Creativity: how much fun did you bring to the process? Did you do something unexpected?

Playability/Entertainment: how enjoyable is it to play the game? Do people find it engaging?

Please avoid NSFW (18+) content and be mindful of others. Don't make games meant to bully or harass other people, either individuals or groups. You are allowed to use assets made by others. Do however make sure that you have the proper licenses and to give credit where credit is due.  We wish you to submit games created exclusively for this jam. To avoid spam entries we might remove games that clearly don't follow this rule (e.g. entries that were submitted to multiple different jams or games that clearly don't follow the given theme). If you are worried that your approach to the theme might be unconventional, you can explain it in your game's description or contact us ahead.

Htmlifier https://sheeptester.github.io/htmlifier/ Htmlifier is a tool for turning your scratch file into html so you can submit your project on itch.io jam site.

Turbowarp https://extensions.turbowarp.org/ Turbo warp is a third party website that lets you make scratch projects with a couple small additions like a right click detector and lets you compile it into JavaScript and HTML. Turbowarp also lets you bypass many Scratch requirements like the small screen size, some arbitrary limits, and compiles into JavaScript while editing for faster running games.

Note that on our Discord server https://discord.gg/FADSj49eSB you can look for jam team members in 👥find-gamejam-team or see a list of tools in ⚙-jam-tool-box . You don't need a team, but you are welcome to form one if you enjoy it.
