GameJam Theme
The theme of the jam is: "It's hard to cook................"
The full theme will be revealed during the onsite round
Jam Duration
The jam will take place in two phases:

Online Round
The online round will take place from April 16 to April 21, 2024, where a partial part of the theme will be revealed. Participants will submit:
- A working prototype of the game within the deadline.
- Git repository to ensure no changes are made after submission.

Onsite Round
This 24-hour contest will take place at the Islamic University of Technology, Boardbazar, Gazipur, on April 26 - April 27, 2024 (Friday and Saturday).
The presentation will be held at 12:00 PM on April 27, 2024.
Note: From the preliminary or online round, 15 teams will be selected for the final onsite round.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only registered participants can join.
- Participants must be higher secondary, undergraduate, or graduate students of HSC-19 or equivalent.
- Mid-contest registration allowed during the online round (T&C apply).
Rules
- Teams must have a unique name.
- Participants will open an empty git repository and start developing from there.
- Participants will be able to use any engine or framework as long as the end user doesn't need to install additional software.
- Participants will create a new game project. This means you cannot edit any previous game project files for this game jam.
- Participants are allowed to reuse assets.

Restrictions for using assets:
- No NSFW assets (e.g., background/images/music/SFX/sprites/textures, etc.).
- No assets that violate the terms of services of itch.io.
- No copyrighted assets.
Submission Guidelines
- Game will be submitted to the game jam event on itch.io. A tutorial on how to upload and submit on the platform can be found here.
- One team can make only one submission.
- Participants will submit builds for Windows or web.
- Participants can upload multiple builds for different platforms, but they have to be submitted before the deadline.
- Participants can submit their game anytime before the deadline.
- Participants will be able to make changes to their submission before the deadline.
- Participants can update information after submission.
- Participants must include the following information in their submission:
- Team name
- Name of the team members
- Used engine or frameworks
- Installation instructions
- Gameplay instructions
- Git repository link
- Video link
- Any other important information
Judgement Criteria
Online Round Evaluation
- Submitted prototypes will be played and scored based on:
- Whether the prototype is working properly
- Alignment with the theme
- Innovativeness of the idea
- All submissions will be ranked based on respective scores.
- Late submissions will be disqualified.
- Cross checking will be carried out against video submissions.
Onsite Round Evaluation
- The judges will be looking for games that excel in the following areas:
- Game Design: Is the core gameplay loop engaging and fun? Does it offer a satisfying challenge?
- Game Mechanics: How well do the mechanics support the theme and overall gameplay experience?
- Theme Adaptation: This is a key focus! Did you successfully incorporate the full theme, including the newly revealed element, into your existing prototype? Is the adaptation creative and well-integrated?
- Aesthetics: Do the visual style and soundscape complement the game's theme and gameplay?
- Additional Judge-Discretionary Criteria: The judges may consider other aspects like innovation, technical polish, and overall polish.
NOTE: Git repository will be checked to make sure participants have not made any modification before the onsite event starts.
