As you are likely aware, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11. If you've been keeping up with the news, Iwata had surgery to remove a bile duct tumor last year, and while the surgery appeared to be successful, it wasn't enough. Iwata's death had apparently come suddenly.

So, why did I start this game jam? If you're like me, you grew up during the Nintendo generation. You likely played a game that Iwata himself had created or provided assistance. This jam is a way for people to pay tribute to a man that provided many of us with a happy childhood. Maybe he inspired you to make games. Iwata wasn't merely a CEO; he was one of us.

Rules

The only rules for the game jam are to be respectful, and the game should pay tribute to Iwata in some way, no matter how small the contribution. You could make a game based on Iwata's earlier works; you could make a trivia game about Iwata's achievements. Do whatever you like!
