Sinopsis
(Unfinished!) Explore and find ingredients to brew exotic potions in order to defeat different monsters

Something else?
Only the water and skybox is from a third party, everything else was made from scratch. Also, this was not finished in time so there is almost no gameplay.

It is pretty nice looking! As siepiau said, things are nicely placed.

Don't worry about not being able to do everything you wanted to for the jam. The real goal is not to win, but to get going, get some feedback and maybe meet some people you can work with someday.

This is also just my second jam (the first was the GMTK which happens to be the biggest one to date, and my game went pretty much unnoticed). My game has like 15 seconds before the story just stops and I wasn't able to do sound and music, but I'm sure everyone here will leave better than how they came :D

My review:

Pros:

  • Visuals are great;
  • Alchemy is a cool concept to work with (I have an alchemy game planned too :D);

Cons:

  • Nothing I can think of other than being unfinished. You should start to work on gameplay asap. You probably have a lot of ideas and you need to start testing them. Things will not be exactly as you picture them in your head, so test them! I had the idea for my game for years, and once I started reality punched me in the face. I had to rethink a lot of stuff that was set in stone for a long time because I never implemented it and I just had too many mechanics overlapping. So test things to see what works!

It has a pleasant visual style and it seems the object placement in the level is done with proper consideration. The map layout has unique regions and the skyline looks picturesque.

Ground has gaps which I fell through several times.

Could use some footsteps and ambient sound.

Very promising start, keep working on it!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!!! Didn't know about the gaps, tried to put some colliders in order to prevent player from falling but seems like that wasn't enough. Sorry for the sound and everything else, something came in the middle of the jam that prevented me to continue with development but I will keep doing updates in order to let other people see and play what I envisioned from the start.
