What's the name of your experience?
Virtual Dragon Riding Simulator With The Gun

Please describe your creation.
I was born in the Year of the Dragon in the Japanese sexagenary cycle.
I did not know whether it was the result, but I liked a dragon from old days.(it is King gidorah to be the oldest!) Therefore the video game which I like most is Panzer Dragoon. I still have the trilogy of Sega Saturn in a state to be able to play. However, as for the Panzer Dragoon, Orta was forgotten last. Why is it? Why can I not play to Panzer Dragoon in Wii remote and Kinect? This is a game for dragon enthusiasts by the dragon enthusiast which such I made. There is you on a dragon when you start a game. Please fire away with the gun of the low latency using the tool tracking of LEAP Motion! (I recommend Wii remote + Stick)

One more thing!
This game can link modified Panasonic JOBA. You make the genuine dragoon gunner with the back of a moving dragon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IemQ4A0loCc Do you not want to ride a dragon in New York?

Programming language?
Unity/C#

Thank you! :)

It does not need Wiimote. (but I recommend it!) It only needs a long stick for LEAP Motion Tool Tracking and fire button (default: Mouse click or Z key). I recommend White or opaque vivid color pen.

And, The appearance of the target stops on the way if you do not shoot down a target. A target continues appearing until the end of the music when you shoot down a target.

Please enjoy it!

I was unable to get the pointer to work (I don't have a wiimote so I couldn't try that part as well), but just riding on the back of the dragon was fun. I have an excercise ball and I was able to try bouncing on that while riding it. That was a trip! It was strange to be on the edge of sim sickness one second because of vestibular disconnect, and then start bouncing and feel totally fine (it even felt like I was experiencing higher g-forces on the bounce up, and that fit with this feeling that I was accelerating upward very quickly).

Unfortunately it seems like the 3D scenery runs out about half way into the song. I would really have liked more to look at.

The dragon model was cool. I'm glad I tried this out.

Great Job! Very fun to play!

This works pretty well (using mouse). I definitely felt dizzy too until I tried bouncing up and down a bit in my seat. The balance ball idea is neat, we can get our exercise and shoot things from dragon-back at the same time, win!

Developer

I upload new file that applied SDK hotfix.

Please retry it!

I feel dizzy.

Sorry, Dragon's movement is adjusted for riding on a JOBA now.

e.g.

I recommend you sit down on balance ball and you bob.

Submitted

Pros: The music is good and background looks good.

Cons: Constant bobbing of the dragon causes motion sickness easily :/

okay I've got it to work

didn't have a wii controller so I just mouse click to fire while holding a pencil

I can definitely see this being a new panzer dragoon :)

-force-opengl works but it's made the screen off center

Developer

@mechabit

Do you use the Extend mode? Then it may be a bug of Oculus SDK. Please try -force-d3d9 and -force-opengl.

Developer

@mechabit

hmm, Anything runs without a problem in my Windows 8.1 64bit environment. Rather x86 build of 2.2.0 did not run.

Because I was resident in Japan, and there was difference in time, it was impossible to go back up in x86.

I make x86 build later and send it by an email.

I have a 64bit version of windows 7 but no unity leap motion vr game works in 64bit mode for me. It's also mentioned in the jam overview page not to use 64bit.

Developer

@mechabit

Really? I am very sorry.

I build this in 64bit, is your Windows 64bit?

Are Oculus Runtime 0.4.3 and LEAP 2.2.0 installed?

Please e-mail me output_log.txt if not yet recovered even if you try the above.
