What is LittleJS?
LittleJS Engine is a lightweight open source HTML5 game engine for modern web development. It's small footprint is packed with a comprehensive feature set including hybrid rendering, physics, particles, sound effects, music, and input handling. The code is very clean and well documented with some fun examples to get you started.

How to Participate
- Sign Up: Register for the game jam here on itch.io.
- Learn LittleJS: If you're new to LittleJS, check out the documentation and tutorial to get started.
- Join the Community: Connect with other participants, share your progress, and get feedback on our Discord server.
- Create Your Game: Develop your game based on the announced theme using the LittleJS game engine.
- Submit Your Game: Submit your game as an HTML project that is free to play in browser.
- Judge Other Games: Everyone who submits a game can vote on a range of criteria for each entry.

Q: Can I work in a team?
A: Yes, team submissions are welcome!
Q: Does my game need to work in a web browser?
A: Yes, you must submit an HTML project that will be embedded on the itch page for your game.
Q: Can I use external assets?
A: Yes, you can use external assets as long as you have the right to use them.
Q: Can I submit a game I’ve already started?
A: You can start with a partially completed prototype but the majority of the game must be completed during the jam.
Q: Do I need to share my source code?
A: No, it is not required, but encouraged to post source files on GitHub for others to learn from.
Q: Can I still update my game during the voting period?
A: Yes! You can still make changes for any reason including bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, or art changes. Keep in mind that it may be too late for anyone that has already played or voted on your game.
Q: Can I use AI to help make my game?
A: Yes! You can use AI for any purpose including art, music, and code. If you do, please share what tools you used for others to learn from.
Prizes
All prize dollar amounts will be awarded as Steam or Amazon gift cards. To make things easier for organizers and participants, no cash will be paid out for this contest.

- Cozy games are relaxing, non-violent, and low stakes.
- Make the best cozy game and win money for your favorite charity!
$200 for OP Guild judges favorite game submitted to Arcadia
- Just put your jam game on arcadia.fun to be eligible.
- Game must be posted to Arcadia before judging ends.
$100 for OP Guild judges special challenge: Endangered Species
- Include any endangered species in your game to be considered.
- OP Guild judges will choose the winner.
$100 for top game submitted to Newgrounds
- Put your jam game on newgrounds.com to be eligible.
- Game with the highest overall score at the end of January 2025 will be chosen to win.
