This is the first (second if you count the one we did for the server) LoveFisy's DreamJam, this is a beginner/intermediate friendly jam where you can make anything for it including:
This jam is very casual, therefore this jam takes place in 4 weeks so you would have enough time to spend with family and friends as well as work on your game.
The jam theme will be announced when the jam starts
but please don't start work on your game before the jam begins
Like we said, this jam doesn't require you to make a game specifically. However, if you want to participate but don't have any experience working on a game, I've provided a list of free code-less or easy to code engines that you can use when making your own game:
Game engines: | Description: | Export Options: | Links: |
Bitsy | A code-less HTML5 based engine that lets you make small story games. | HTML5 | Link |
OHRRPGCE | A code-less RPG engine made to make retro styled rpgs. | Windows | Link |
TIC-80 | A fantasy computer for making DOS styled games using JavaScript, MoonScript, and Lua. | Windows, Linux, HTML5, MacOX | Link |
Construct 2 | An easy to use, code-less 2D engine originally made to make web games (side note, this version of Construct is outdated and can only be exported to HTML5 in the free version). | HTML5 | Link |
Gamemaker | An easy to use 2D game engine with support for code-less scripting and full on scripting, used to make undertail, hyperlight drifter, and hotline miami. | Windows, Linux, HTML5, MacOX | Link |
Godot | A multifaceted 3D and 2D game engine that while having a somewhat steep learning curve, can make extremely good games. | Windows, Linux, HTML5, MacOX | Link |
These are basic rules that every jam has so we're not gonna go in excruciating details but we still need to address them for the people in the back:
1. Don't be toxic and be kind
2. No porn games
3. No AI use in the game submissions
4. Teams are allowed
5. Just have fun :]
