The Love + Attraction Game Jam is a chill, open-ended jam where the central themes are love, sexuality, attraction, and loneliness.

You're probably thinking, "That seems pretty vague..."

...Exactly! I want this jam to feel casual. You can make it as serious or as simple as you want - the point is to explore different perspectives on the topic. Other than including said topics, you can make your game about whatever you want! Space pirates finding love in the middle of a shootout, an introvert and an extrovert meeting for the first time- anything!

So, why this theme?

Many VNs feature dating and romance as central themes, yet the epidemic of loneliness still persists for many of us. These games can be used as a form of escapism, sure, but I'll let you decide whether that's a good or bad thing! There is no pressure to represent romantic love, sex, or attraction positively- I want your perspectives.

"Picture it: February, the month of love... it seems to be on everyone's mind at some point or another- whether it's a desire to find true love, questioning why others find it so important to begin with, or picking up the pieces after a bad relationship. 

Do you think love is the ultimate goal of one's life? Do you find it hopeless? Pointless?

Do you think that special someone is out there for everyone? Do you just want to have no-frills sex and not commit to anyone?

Whatever your feelings may be- put them to the test in this jam!"

The Rules

1.  All entries must be made between February 1st and February 28th. If your entry is not done by the cut-off date, please don't be discouraged from uploading it to itch anyway! Remember, there's no ranking/judging panel. (You may use as much time before the start date to plan as you want, just don't create the game until feb 1st!)

2. All content must abide by itch.io's  terms of service. 

3. No AI content is allowed. Any entries found to contain AI generated imagery, whether it be sprites, backgrounds, CGs, etc. will be disqualified.

4. If your work is NSFW, please mark it appropriately. Remember, it is NOT required to make your game NSFW!

5. Your entry does not have to be a VN. As long as it follows the theme and rules above, any type of game will be allowed! Get creative!
