WHAT IS MACRO JAM?

Macro Jam is a beginner friendly Game Jam that lasts 96-hours and is held on the first week of every month. In this Jam you have to create a game that follows the theme, which will be revealed once the Jam starts. The theme can be voted and suggested in the Discord Server.

During the submission window you can play and vote other peoples' games, and 3 days after, the rankings will be out. After the submission window closes you still have until the end of the voting period to submit a late submission, which you can do by messaging the staff in the Community Discord Server.

The theme is: Physically restricted

This is up for interpretation, but just remember that the Use of Theme is a large criterion being voted on!

RATING:

When the submission window is over, there will be a 3 day voting period:

1. Use of theme - how well the theme is incorporated in your game

2. Enjoyment - how fun it was to play the game

3. Gameplay - how well the game feels to play (controls, smoothness, etc)

4. Presentation - how well the game is presented (visuals, audio, menu, etc)

:RULES

1. Keep the game content clean (no explicit, NSFW or disturbing graphics)

2. Keep the game in English (except for the title; it can be in any language)

3. Only make games in the 96-hour Jam period

4. If you aren't sure about the rules, ask in the Discord Server

FAQ

What's the theme? The theme is a subject or category that your game should fit in. It's not mandatory, but if you're aiming to place well in the results, having solid theme incorporation is essential.

Can we team up? Yes, you're allowed to have a team of as many people as you want! Find teammates in the Discord Server.

Do all team members have to submit? No, if you're in a team, only one person should submit. The other members should be contributers.

What can I use to make the game? You can use anything: game engines, raw code, or even Scratch! Feel free to use AI too. Macro Jam is a place that is inclusive of whatever you use to make your game.

Are there prizes for winning? Yes, there are! The top 3 get announced in the Discord Server as well as win a certificate. More prizes are to come!
