I know what you might be thinking. You are too concerned with the judgement of others to attempt your dream game. Well don't worry, just make the game you want.

Toshio Saeki once said, “leave other people to draw seemingly beautiful flowers that
bloom within a nice, pleasant-looking scenery. I try instead to capture the vivid flowers that
sometimes hide and sometimes grow within a shameless, immoral and horrifying dream.”

Ero Guro is a genre and movement in Japan, that started in the 1930s in which Japanese society started to advocate hedonism, sensory stimulation and curiosities in abnormal taboos following with repression from a militaristic government.

Out of respect for history and culture, rather than rewrite it I want us to embrace our moral sensibilities and sensitivities. Both to understand ourselves and the world in which we inhabit, so that we don't take our life or others for granted.

- It must be a game, this definition includes visual novels.........but can not just be written materials/pdfs/documents.

- Must have a narrative even if the story is told through visual or auditory queues and not expressed in text form.

- Sexual, Gore and Sensitive content is allowed.

- You can form a team or solo.

- Must be 18+ to submit.

- Cannot be a game you have previously worked on before the Jam period.

Rule Changes:

• You will be able to submit changes to your game up to 2 weeks after the jam ends. in 2 months
• You must submit your jam page before the submission deadline. in a month

This is to encourage high quality submissions, allow late-joiners a generous amount of time to work on their games, provide a competitive atmosphere and to form teams. To create a welcoming and supportive network for the jam.

Rating is based on: Gameplay, Story, Art, Audio and Theme. The capped score is 40, you cannot get perfect score of 50. So even if you get a score of 0 in one criteria you might do exceptionally on the other 4 and still have a fair chance to win. $50 for 1st place. $20 for the runner-up.

If anyone would like to make a game for this game jam, anything goes as long as you are 18+ and it's a game with a story.

This is an opportunity to create the game that you want. You can use RPG Maker, RenPy, Godot, Bevy, or any game engine or framework of your choice. At the end of the day, this jam is suppose to allow you to flex your creative muscles and maybe get others involved as well.

Please be mindful of the rules which are non-restricted by nature. Obvious low quality will not be considered for the prize, as this is about challenging yourself or your team to make something really great or unique.
