************ We are extending the game jam! ************
Join us in making games we play with cats!
The rules are simple!
- The game must be an analogue roleplaying game only (TTRPG, LARP, etc)
- THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE: The game must have rules for playing with at least one cat! At least one cat must be a player.
- The game must be a standalone game! But hacks and the like are more than welcome
- The game can be as short as one page, or as many pages as you like
- You can brainstorm and such before the jam starts, but please only submit games you worked on during the jam period
- The game can be a prototype, a draft, etc. This is a game jam, have fun with it! No pressure!
- HAVE FUN! We're making games about playing with cats okay?
(Totally) Optional Design Challenges:
- Go against cat stereotypes or assumptions! Turn it totally upside down
- A game that trains a cat to become a familiar...or for a human to become a cat's familiar!
- A game that educates as well as entertains: how do cats communicate? How can we take care of the cats in our community?
- Mechanics that are friendly for kids but engaging for adults (a game for the whole family!)
- A lyric game that explores wonderful cat related themes
- A secretive game that can be played in public
A few more things:
- Your game jam hosts are Lucian Kahn (@oh_theogony + https://necromancy.itch.io/), Jamila R. Nedjadi (@temporalhiccup + https://temporalhiccup.itch.io/), and Dana CatCatCat Cameron (@DAYtheELF + https://daytheelf.itch.io/)
- You are encouraged to price your game however you see fit! Your work has value. Though we do encourage things like a discount for marginalized folk, community copies, or an offer to send a copy of the game for those going through financial hardship, etc.
- Any form of hate will not be tolerated. Games promoting racism, sexism, homophobia, colorism, ableism, fascism, transphobia, islamophobia, antisemitism, or other bigotry will be
removed from the jam.
