Really loved it! Feels extremely polished, loved the merchants, the loot spread across the map, the combat... Especially the final boss (in the version that I played)! This is by far the most polished game jam game with the most content, that I've ever played :) Very inspiring.
Some feedback / nitpicks:
- The grapple cooldown should be reduced, or maybe removed to allow for more fluent platforming.
- The gravity acceleration could be tuned down a little.
- Got a crash with the splitting ghosts boss, I think due to a small ghost being referenced after destruction (forgot to copy the exact error). Ended up not being a big deal though.
- I tried for a good 10 minutes to get to a secret that didn't exist, getting punished by an unforgiving drop and loop-around: imgur.com/a/ZXweETd
Still, these points were minor and took away little from the great experience. Can't wait for a full release!
Absolutely amazing. I'd say a gamepad is absolutely required, though. Still, that's just something to note, and not a flaw of any kind; this is perf.
input mishandling makes this game completely unplayable.
The game is perfect
Some things I liked are...
1. The Music: The music in the first zone was lacking but everything other than that was a banger.
2. The graphics: The graphics make you feel like you are playing an old NES classic.
3. The Gameplay: The controls are weird at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly. The game mechanics are very well made, and I love the "Jab down on a enemy and get boosted up" mechanic.
The game is perfect so far. But here are some things I didn't like.
