Love the teleport animation and sound. Really Felt like a teleport. Flashbacks of rocket tower from first-gen pokemon! I agree with what other's mentioned about making it more puzzle esque or adding a mechanic but good proof of concept, you should definitely build on it!
The controls are a little clunky to get used to as going from one direction to another feels less responsive.
I was literally going for the pokemon portal stuff! I'm glad someone picked up on it
I definitely had fun with this! Although I must say that I agree on this game not really being a puzzle game. For me it was more about memorization. After trying out a few things in the first level with a key I found a way to the exit but not to the key yet. So I had to try and memorize the way to the exit (which was fun as well!). If you want to take it more into the memorization direction I would suggest maybe showing the player the pattern beforehand and then letting them try and see whether they memorized it correctly. Or if you want to make it more into a puzzle, one idea would be to give the player some kind of "cryptic" hint on which teleporter to activate next. I think this has a lot of potential!
I will say, i love the lil guy. i love the general art direction this game has as well. it's not exactly a puzzle if i'm being honest, if the puzzle is simply "guess which one will take you where you need to go." the slow animation didn't really help that much either. something really neat you could do is maybe having all the teleporters inactive or not working, and moving your way around the dungeon, solving puzzles to activate pairs of teleporters as you go, and using them to your advantage to access rooms you otherwise wouldn't be able to go to, just to name an idea. Otherwise, i really did enjoy the concept, and i know this can be something pretty neat!
Thanks for the critique. Also, I love the profile picture ;) Yeah if I had more time I might have made it more intricate but w 48 hours theres only so much I can do lol.
I really like this game.. it kinda felt like the old Scooby Doo door chase scene.. lol
To follow the Slow-Mo surprise theme: you have to think SLOW and carefully to solve the last 2 puzzles
