Love the high fantasy-ish setting. Well done!

Lots of story-telling here to add to the story/setting already.  I don't know how I feel about the 50% fail, even with two dice. Do you understand how hard it is to roll a NOT 1 on a d4? So hard!

The Spite and Grief mechanics are an interesting, and highly thematic, touch.  I'll have to play through a few rolls to see how they can be used at advantage.

Hey man! Thanks for the feedback.

Yep, the high chance to fail is to encourage that Grief and Spite bonus element, but a d4 is probably too harsh now that I look back on it. Originally it was a d6 with the limit being 7, but the bonuses became a tad too strong then.

Still, I hope you enjoy it, and please let me know how it goes!

I love the story. It is very poetic. Do the 'things' you pick up have any mechanical reaction in the game other than recovering and loosong them? Or is it purely just for role play? Surely they are important if you pretty much die if you loose them?

Early draft had mechanical bonuses tied to the things, yeah. You turned HOLLOW if you lost all your things, but after a while I felt there were too many ways to die. That's thematic, but ultimately could be cut.  For now though they are there to provide a buffer against gaining Grief or Spite.
