Question: is there not a direct consequence for failing a task? Like, no lost die? Just whatever story the GM cooks up?
Haha, Big Corporations aren't above using religious propaganda to promote their cause are they.
They players are also free to question the morality of either party, but the rules are written by Second Sun Inc.
Now, you shouldn't be testing for Tasks that don't have meaningful consequences when you fail them.
It's up to the DM to describe what happens when you fail a task.
Also, I assume time passes and opponents perform tasks as well while you are busy failing yours. There are no infinite resources. It is a dark, cold and unforgiving world after all.
