The Theme of this jam is: Betrayal

This is a non-competitive cooperative dev Jam for the development of the Pocket Pack.

The goal of this jam is to aid in the development of the Pocket Pack by creating an engaging environment for users and creators to promote their concepts and ideas for the final pack, as well as to increase visibility for the pack and bring attention to its development.

What is the Pocket Pack?

The Pocket Pack is a resource pack (currently available for free in early access HERE!) that seeks to emulate the style of old school handheld rpgs. It primarily intends to serve as an alternative for those who wish to make games in this style without having to resort to hacking or using rips/illegal assets in their game. It is intended to be easy to use and edit, including templates and bases for the user to make their own characters.

The rules are simple:

No Rips or AI generated assets.

Only assets that you own/have created yourself are allowed. Fangames or games that utilize trademarked terms or violate intellectual property laws are not allowed and will be removed. You do not have to use assets from the Pocket Pack, but you do need to create things that you would like to see in the Pocket Pack. EG, you could use the RPG maker RTP to make a small podunk town if you want more town tilesets.

No politics. No religion. No great pumpkin.

Games referencing real world political figures, religions, or depictions of the great pumpkin will be removed. Things like angels, demons, ghosts, governors, and pumpkins of mediocrity are fine. Things like real world people are not. Mentioning the great pumpkin by name is an instant disqualification lest we summon his wrath and he rise from the pumpkin patch this Halloween to bring us our due punishment.

•  Any Engine you own is permitted.

Rpgmaker, Godot, Gms2, Unity, GBStudio etc. Create a Demo or short game within the timeframe of 28 days. Incomplete or Unfinished projects are still encouraged to be submitted. Projects made for other jams are allowed as well, so if you're working on the Spooky Jam, feel free to submit your project to this one as well.

A theme will be announced to help inspire creativity

After the jam period has ended, the community will be able to vote on which submissions they liked the most. This is to promote the developers, as well as to help increase visibility towards the types of content that users would value having in their general resource pack. Strict adherence to the theme is not a requirement.

The theme is Betrayal
