I have just finished playing the game. :) Here come some miscellaneous comments.

Observations:
  • The music is nice, even beautiful. And I enjoyed the retro 16/8-bit sounds for the buttons. X) The music is somewhat reminiscent of 16-bit (J)RPGs. Some notes reminded me of either the Final Fantasy series (the menu theme) or Secret of Mana (as when you arrive in prison).
Nevertheless, the volume may be a bit loud.
  • There are a lot of details; for example, there is even a description of the hero in the ‘Status’ submenu.
More generally, really a lot of things (such as the names of the places), although I could not tell how much is due to the engine (which is very genre-specific) and how much from your own effort, since I never used it. But I think you put quite some work into it, seeing all the dialogue and the story. I can see you put effort in designing the prison, too.
  • Some lines seem to have their right parts cut for being too long (for example, ‘without a weapon equi’). Or downwards: the blonde girl after the spider say ‘while we were’… I was curious to know!
  • Seeing the sentence ‘è morta’, are you Italian by any chance? :) Not sure this was done on purpose.
Also another sentence in Italian when picking up a mushroom in boss room.
Glad you made an Italian version of the final sentence; I like sprinkling French, too (including for my main title versions). ;)
Funnily enough, the spider’s name Araña is Spanish (as can be seen through the tilde) instead of Italian! X) I like the name.
  • There is a typo for the Strong Mushroom description : ‘Raise Strenght’ instead of ‘Raise Strength’.
Or in the line ‘Whe found this plush’ (both ‘Whe’ and I think a ‘soft toy’ was meant rather than the material). And ‘a corridors’. And ‘I want to help me.’?
But the English was good, despite your warning in the game page. ;)
  • When entering the password: apparently, once in the password screen, you are forced to answer, but it would be good to be able to quit.
  • (bug) Some wallish tiles seem to be incorrectly traversable; in particular, I could go through the yellow ‘KEEP OUT’ sign and then walk in the black ceiling, as if it were a secret passageway.
  • The fight against the spider was very brutish. Well, I mean, I was. XD And it worked! I do not know how much you could fiddle with RPG Maker to make it more tactical. You managed to force the player to think a bit in the prison (through poisoning and anti-poison mushrooms).
  • I am not convinced by how the game relates to the constraint; I would say it has to be integrated to the gameplay in some way. That may be my interpretation of it, though. On the other hand, the theme is clearly felt (this was a bit of a contrast and a shock to get this poor lying girl and kawaii anime character graphics at the same time).
  • Contrary to inarsy, I did not feel lost. Except maybe the interface holds way too much information, and some commands could be more clearly stated (especially the Escape key as a deleter for the password letters).

My takeaway: I liked how the riddle was implicit, the excellent music and the narration. This is a small and classic Action-RPG game, but it made me want to know the full story — which we do no get here! Anyway, this is a good start in storytelling for a first game jam. :)

Spoiler: seeing how the ending calls for a sequel, will you make one? :)

Thank you for played my game!

The music tracks are original from Rpg maker vx ace program.

I have to revise all the dialogues, some are not shown entirely on the screen...

Also I have to translate some of them from italian. yes I'm italian and I first wrote all dialogues in this language, then I translated (most of them) in english!

In the project I based this game the boss was called Arana, I liked the word so left it, I like how it sound.

Yes, I should check all the bugs in the game. Thank you for reporting it!

I don't know if I would make a sequel but I would change the ending.

Thank you so much for trying my game!

I like the concept but I didn't really know where I what I needed to do most of the time.
